Józefa 36Israel celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, and one of its current priorities is to build alliances in the region and deepen friendships around the world. A lot has also been happening in official relations between Israel and Poland recently – historic visits, agreements between governments, dialogue at the highest level. What does the work of the head of a diplomatic mission look like at such a special time and how does the dialogue between governments translate into the daily work of the Israeli Ambassador?

Dr. Yacov Livne has been an Israeli diplomat since 1992. He has worked in Moscow and Berlin among other places. Since 2022, he has been Ambassador of Israel in Poland.
He is a physicist by education (Bachelor’s degree), with a Master’s degree in International Relations and a PhD in History.
For many years he has been active in the Israeli Trade Union of Diplomats. He is one of the initiators and founders of the Israeli Society of Diplomacy.
