Ruah – A Way of Return (PL)

29.06.2023 - 15:00 - 18:00 / starting point: ul. Józefa 36

The Path of Kraków’s Jews does not lead from the bustling Kazimierz through the ghetto in Podgórze to the camp in Płaszów. Quite the opposite. In chapter 37 of the book of Ezekiel, there is a harrowing description of the “Valley of Dry Bones,” and more specifically, the resurrection of the dead. The driving force that revives the dead is the Ruah/ The Invigorating Breath. We will start our “Path of Return” from Plac Zgody. We will leave the ghetto, this humiliating symbol of Jewish tragedy and human degradation, behind us. Following the invigorating breath of memory and love, we will return to Kazimierz from centuries ago. It is closer to me than the Kazimierz of today. We will revive it together so that it will remain with us forever. It will be a long, never-ending path.

A walk will conclude with common conversation at the Cheder Cafe. Tickets (45 PLN) available at 32.jewishfestival.pl (baclava and finjan coffe included in price)
