Born in Safed, Upper Galilee around 1550, Najara was heir to a distinguished family of refuges from Spain. Gifted poet and musician, and inspired mystic, Najara revolutionized Hebrew sacred poetry in the early modern period, setting it unmistikabily on a musical basis upon which it stands to this day. In this workshop we will learn about the man, his life and works and more importantly learn how to sing a couple of songs by him.
