Maggots: ON-AIR

A troop of gigantic maggots arrive at the city prepared to devour that which is rotting. From death, they generate fertile compost for new beginnings. Emerging from limp bodies, they transform into winged beings and take off over our heads.

Accompanied by detritus-beings, remembrance-bodies of a glorious past. They survive thanks to the looted fresh air.

What awaits these underworld creatures in the sky world? Will there be fresh air?  

MAGGOTS ON AIR intends to work on the potential of the metamorphosis processes hidden in our daily lives, with a sustainability-focused and transformational perspective in mind that is always evolving.

During 12 days, 40 volunteers from the Jewish Culture Festival and 4 artists from AGENTUR PUNCH art project, will work in a collective creation. The result will be a site specific street show which combines performative language with large format puppets and multimedia language.
